Showplace has designed and constructed a variety of hospitality structures for Juddmonte Farms over the past decade.
Taking place at the end of November, at the world-renowned Tattersalls鈥� auction house, was the December Mares Sale 2022. This is considered as an esteemed event in the Juddmonte calendar, attracting buyers from far and wide to view the finest European Bloodstock. The December Mares Sale is distinguished by its record-breaking status, such as in 2017 when a horse was sold for 6,000,000 guineas, making it the highest priced horse ever sold at a European auction.
Showplace is proud to have provided a unique and striking hospitality facility to welcome guests over the four-day event. A combination of different sized Moda structures were used in order to create the perfect space for guests to enjoy.
Each year, our clients decide on a new theme for the interior of the structures. This year鈥檚 theme centred around the universe to give guests a truly out of this world experience whilst attending the event. All the interior walls of the structure were utilised in order to bring this vision to life, featuring a variety of images of Juddmonte鈥檚 horses immersed amongst the galaxy.
The structures are subdivided into various themed areas; bespoke bars, counters and central display features are provided, combined with premium carpet and wood effect flooring, which is rarely seen in the event world. Critical features such as functional lighting, heating, electrical distribution and kitchen infrastructure are all provided in house, along with decorative decking frontage and exterior feature lighting. Although we provide most of the required infrastructure and services in house, we work in collaboration with specialist furniture and lighting contractors to provide a very different look and feel by night compared to the daytime ambience.
Juddmonte was founded in 1980 by the late Prince Khalid bin Abdullah and has amassed a reputation as one of the leading breeders in the world. At present, Juddmonte has bred 117 individual Group/Grade 1 winners of 225 Group/Grade 1 races, including 27 European Classic Winners and 3 US Classic winners. Arguably Juddmonte鈥檚 most famous horse, Frankel, is a retired champion British Thoroughbred racehorse. Unbeaten in his 14 race career, Frankel achieved the accolade of highest rated racehorse in the world from May 2011. He was bred by Juddmonte farms, trained by Henry Cecil and named after the renowned, late American trainer, Bobby Frankel.
